Kryvyi Rih bid farewell to Defender Oleksandr Dedyayev.

Andriy Sinyavsky, director of the “I Want to Live” Charitable Foundation, accompanied the fallen hero on his final journey.

It is important for our Foundation to stand by the families of our defenders not only during times of waiting and searching, but also when a hero returns home on a shield.

In November 2024, 25-year-old Oleksandr Dedyayev—a soldier with the 129th Separate Brigade—went missing while carrying out a combat mission in the Donetsk region.

For nearly nine months, his loved ones lived in anticipation and hope. It was only this August that Oleksandr returned to his hometown of Kryvyi Rih so that his family and fellow townspeople could lay him to rest.

Oleksandr was 25 years old. In peacetime, he worked at a Metinvest quarry. At home, his wife, 6-year-old son, parents, sisters, and brother were waiting for him.

Behind every person missing in action lies a human story, a family waiting, and pain that cannot be measured in words.

The “I Want to Live” Charitable Foundation continues to stand by the families of Ukrainian defenders and to honor the memory of those who gave their lives for Ukraine.
