Another tragic loss in our land…

On August 27, the Semyrichky Starosta District bid farewell to Volodymyr Hnatenko, a Defender of Ukraine.

Volodymyr joined the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on January 21, 2023. He was killed on October 3, 2023, near the village of Verbove in the Zaporizhzhia region. For nearly three years, his family waited for the Hero’s return.

For his mother, Olga Mykhailivna, this loss was particularly devastating: she had previously buried her eldest son, Oleksiy, who also defended Ukraine, and six months ago, her husband.

Family members, comrades, and the community came to see Volodymyr off on his final journey. The “I Want to Live” Charitable Foundation and its director, Andriy Sinyavskyi, took part in the honor guard.

The defender was buried with military honors on the Walk of Fame in Semyrichka.

May the Hero rest in eternal peace. We bow our heads in gratitude for his defense of Ukraine.
